Scrap To The Future Charity Car Rally to Bonnie Scotland

Regal Homes joined forces with PLANETS Charity and organised a Scrap Car Charity Rally.

The Rally, which left Le Mans Style from Southampton General Hospital on Friday 6th October and arrived safely in Bonnie Scotland.

Fifteen road legal scrap cars set off from Southampton General Hospital. The first stop was Popham Airfield, for a series of Top Gear challenges.

Then on to Leeds for the first overnight stopover before finally arriving at Lock Lomond, Scotland the following day.

The sole aim of the car rally event was to raise £20,000. This would enable PLANETs Charity to modify a second operating theatre where a one of a kind Radiotherapy Machine can be used to treat pancreatic, bowel, NET and liver tumours. The second theatre would help extend this to lung, bladder, head & neck, breast, cervical and ovarian tumours too.

The Radiotherapy Machine is entirely funded by charity money. It is the only machine in the UK.

Sadly, there is no NHS funding for this equipment at present.

All the cars surprisingly made it to the finish line, raising what is thought to be in excess of £40,000 for PLANETs charity – which is raising daily!
